Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American journalist. She is the host of SportsNation as well as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. The first time she worked for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter of the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first job as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was promoted to reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate following that. In 2009, she relocated away from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. In reporting on news stories about drugs and immigration issues on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was an anchor on the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm, an anchor for the news channel in English until 9pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10 pm, and then returned to the Spanish channel. Also, she was a substitute for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. She was then the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given greater responsibilities. She reported on the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She also served as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. The same role she was employed by Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports channel). Antonietta's parents are from Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22 on the 22nd of October, 1985, in Mexico City. She is younger than her sister. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother was remarried to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. On a family vacation in Ohio, the young Collins took a place along with her sister. Antonietta was the senior of her high school however, she had a very clear vision of her career goals. She visited Mount Union University to find out if the school was suitable for her. The campus was beautiful and provided the education she sought. After finishing high school, she decided to attend the University and major with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and director of WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Her professor Mark Bergmann inspired her by his passion for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
